Self Storage is a relatively recent service industry in the UK. Self Storage centers have a selection of room sizes that you can hire, short or long term and some provide storage containers. You bring your goods to our storage center, lock them in the room and come and go as you please during opening hours. You are the only key holder. You can store almost anything unless it is excluded in our terms and conditions.
Yes, our storage facility is heated throughout ensuring a constant temperature
Yes, you need to provide your own padlock. You are the sole key holder, responsible for ensuring that your room is locked and that you have scanned out of the storage area. Padlocks are available to buy from the office
The minimum rental period is 14 days; this would require you to give notice when you sign up for your unit
There are no additional rental charges; however, your goods must be fully insured.
Pretty much anything. There is a list of prohibited items within our Terms and Conditions page. They include firearms, combustibles, chemicals, compressed gas, illegal substances or illegally obtained items – and living creatures! Police and Customs have powers to enter your room, subject to serving notice on us.

Rates are from £1 a week according to the amount of space you need. We also have pre-paid and other discount schemes. For an accurate quote please contact us.
It is essential that you provide proof of address and photo ID. Examples of acceptable documents include photographic driver's license, passport, a company ID card with photo, utility/ insurance bill(dated within the last six months), Council Tax bill, Paper Driving license (proof of address). You will also need a padlock (which may be purchased from the office if you don't have one) along with other packing materials you may need.
Like many other storage companies, we do charge a security deposit. This is equivalent to 1 month's rent as standard for storage units.
We accept all major credit/debit cards for cash for the rent but most customers prefer to arrange a Direct Debit after the initial payment is made at the time of booking. A minimum of four weeks' rent is required at the time of booking. All our stores operate on a 28-day billing cycle. If you choose one of our prepaid introductory deals you will need to pay in accordance with the terms of that specific promotion
Not automatically. You must confirm you have insurance cover for your goods. Most household contents policies do not cover goods in storage. We can arrange cover for you through our own comprehensive, new for old policy when you move in. Unfortunately due to the level of cover they provide, we are unable to accept “goods in-store” policies from internet-only providers.
Yes; We have trolleys and goods lifts which will help if you have a lot to move.
All of our units are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. Items which are likely to cause any mess are prohibited from being in storage.
Monday to Friday – 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday – 10 am to 2:00 pm,
Normal access hours are Monday to Saturday – 7 am to 7 pm, Sunday – 10 am to 2 pm.
We have CCTV cameras covering the building perimeter and main corridors. The cameras record 24 hours a day, on to a digital system. The building is protected by a state of the art alarm Intruder system. There are also residents on site
Yes, by prior arrangement if you have one of our PO Boxes in place. It should be noted that RYDON SELF STORAGE does not accept responsibility for these goods.
Your first payment includes your month's rent in advance and a security fee which is refundable on termination of your contract (subject to your storeroom being in the same conditions as when you moved in.) See FAQ Do I have to pay a security deposit
Yes if we have a storage room available that suits your needs and you have the required documentation.
If you subsequently find that you require more space, you would have the option to move to a larger storage unit, if available with an adjustment to cover the cost increase.
Yes. We require 14 days' notice; after the notice period you simply drop your access card into the post box outside our office and we do the rest. You will be eligible for your security deposit to be refunded ( subject to the condition of the storeroom you rented), outstanding charges if any, and any unused rent (minus the required 14 days notice)
It is important to know who is on-site and where this is for many reasons, security for you, For your belonging and other belongings but primarily for Health and Safety reasons
